AGL Denver 2015

DAS and small cell systems have been the subject of a lot of talk. But what do they look like in the field? The Small Cells and DAS Case Studies: What Do Enterprises and Carriers Want? panel provided an inside look into the challenges and opportunities of deploying DAS and small cells.

ADRF’s Regional Sales Manager for the West, Mike Jones, shared an in-depth case study of a recent ADX DAS deployment at the DirecTV Corporate Headquarters in El Segundo, CA. This neutral host/multi-carrier DAS deployment was very unique in that we were able to highlight the importance of  choosing a DAS platform that is scalable, flexible and reliable. In early 2014, DirecTv approached ADRF about enhancing coverage inside the various buildings of their corporate headquarters. What initially started out as a Verizon Wireless only requirement eventually grew to include all 4 major carriers (Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless). Instead of having DirecTv purchase a whole new system to meet the added scope, ADRF was able to leverage the modularity of the ADX DAS platform to provide the most cost effective solution for the customer. It was as easy as plugging in the cards for the different frequency bands. Sounds too easy? We think so, too!

With the ever changing technology in the wireless industry, it is critical to choose a DAS platform that can support these technological advances in the most seamless yet cost effective way.
